GORDON WALLACE IN 1969

A fresh faced Gordon Wallace posing in dark blue for the first time, in 1969, having just signed for the club.
He got his Dee career off to a great start, being Dundee's top scorer in his debut season, with 23 goals in 1969/70. He later went on to become club top scorer in 1971/72 & 1975/76.
Little did he know when this photo was taken that he'd end up scoring against the likes of Cologne & AC Milan, and most famously, getting the winner that won us the Scottish League Cup in 1973, thus achieving legend status!
So then, in his career from 1969 to 1976 he played in a total of 259 full games and hit the back of the net 119 times, making him the 6th highest scorer in DFC's history.
A few years later he also had a stint as club manager - 1989 to 91.

Brilliant servant for the Dees and if he played for Gerrs or Celts he would have went onto have plenty caps for Scotland. Only two he would have been up against for centre forward spot. Jordan and Dalgliesh
