HIT THE BAR

Not sure if this bar of chocolate was made by Cadderry's or Rowndee's, but let's hope it leads to a 2010 with the sweet taste of victory rather than sweet FA..!!
Happy Blue Year!

DEE4LIFE TRUST T-SHIRT - FRONT - 2005

Although this t-shirt only dates from 4 years ago, it is a pretty rare item, mostly because there were only around 2 dozen made and were given to those who took part in the 2 charity matches involving Dee4Life v Arab Trust. The 2 games were played at Dens & Tannadice. The dates are on the shirt.

2ND DERRY RUMBA T-SHIRT - BACK

Getting good value from the Derry Rumba design dept, here was the DFC tour schedule for the 90/91 season. A bit hasty with the forecast though, we didn't get promoted until the following season.

2ND DERRY RUMBA T-SHIRT - FRONT

This colourful t-shirt was the Derry Rumba design for the 1990/91 season. Having been relegated, the fightback was on!!

DERRY RUMBA T-SHIRT - FRONT

Here is the Derry Rumba t-shirt as advertised in the previous post. Quite a collectors item now.

DERRY RUMBA MERCHANDISE

This advert appeared in the Apr/May 1989 issue of Derry Rumba fanzine. The design for t-shirts & sweatshirts featured a bomber on the front and fist on the back.
Don't know how Dee fans abroad felt about paying £50 for postage mind you..!!
I think they did miss the opportunity to sell Derry Rumbaba sponge cakes though!!

DUNDEE FC PENNANT FROM THE 70'S

From around the mid 70's era is this original DFC pennant which I'm sure a few of you probably had on your wall at the time. A little tatty near the bottom but otherwise in top notch condition. This was made of a plastic/pvc type of material which has probably helped keep it in such good nick after 4 decades.

BONNIE SHIRT - MESSY RESULTS

This away jersey is from the 2004-05 season. Not Dundee's true colours but still pretty smart. Unfortunately, the classy design wasn't matched by classy play, and down to Div 1 we went at the end of the season!

KEEP YER SHIRT ON - #3

This top contains the names of Dundee supporters who bought season tickets for 2002 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Dundee winning the Scottish League.
One of my faves!

KEEP YER SHIRT ON - #2

This doesn't look like a Dundee top but it almost became one.
Xara came up with the idea to have an alternative 3rd away strip and designed this effort, in green. Luckily, the concept wasn't approved and only prototype samples were ever made.
Ok for a goalie maybe. Some of the players ended up using the spares for training.

KEEP YER SHIRT ON - #1

This is the DFC away shirt for 2002-03 with most of the players from that season signing it - Gavin Rae, Nacho Novo, Barry Smith and them all.
The Dee made it through to the Scottish Cup Final that season.

SPORTS BAG AD - 1970

This mail order ad for a sports bag is dated May 1970. These bags were very common in the late 60's and throughout the 70's. Kids began using them as school bags and just about every youngster had one in their team of choice, in club colours.
21/6 in today's money works out at around £1.07p.
3/- is 15p.

DUFFY #3 - THE MERCHANDISE

This turned out to be more duff than Duffy merchandise! The idea behind it was a parody of TV's "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" using Duffy's name in it's place. It even had the DFC badge in blood! Anyway, it never reached the mass production stage and there were only 2 sample shirts made. Jim Duffy himself saw the humorous side of it and actually signed the one I have, but I've no idea what happened to the other one, maybe it ended up being used as a duster by the cleaner at Dens!
