ALFIE BOYD - 1947 to 1953
A couple of rare cards from the late 40's featuring Alfie Boyd.Alfie has links with Dundee FC going way back to when, as a kid, he used to be ball-boy at Dens.
He signed as a player in 1947 and played in the left back / centre half positions up till 1953, and notched up a grand total of 234 appearances for the club.
He will always be remembered for scoring the vital goal at Hampden when Dundee beat Rangers 3-2 in the Scottish League Cup final. Alfie heading in the winner with just a few seconds remaining!

DUNDEE'S DEADLY DUO
Only once in Dundee FC's history have the team managed to score over 100 League goals in one season. This momentous occasion happened in 1946-47. After playing a total of 26 League games, Dundee banged in 113 goals. If you include all the Cup matches too, the tally was 134!
As a consequence of this goal rush, the club had 2 equal top scorers for the 1946-47 season, with both Bert Juliussen and Ernie Ewen each netting 33 times.

DOUG COWIE FOOTBALL CARD
A rare old football card going back to 1960 featuring Dundee legend, Doug Cowie. DC was still playing in the Dundee team at that time, which is quite amazing when you think that he actually started playing for DFC in 1945. He managed to keep it going until the following year, 1961, when he eventually called it a day at Dens. Needless to say his legend status has been helped by him becoming the Clubs longest serving player. As a reminder, Doug also has the "Cowie Lounge" named after him at Dens Park. The Dundee FC website has recently put him into their "Hall of Fame" too, so if you want to read about his lengthy career in more detail, here is the link - http://www.dundeefc.co.uk/news_detail.asp?ID=2684

This is one of their original cards from the series featuring talented Dundee star, Billy Steel. For you younger ones, back then a football used to be called a "tub", and a throw-in was called a "shy"...or "sheh" if ye wur oary!

ALEX HAMILTON FOOTBALL CARD - 1963
Here's Dundee's Alex Hamilton making an appearance on a 45 year old football card given away as part of Tiger comic's "Star Footballers of 1963" set. The right-back is certainly worthy of the futba card treatment as he was with Dundee from 1957 to 1968, making a total of 359 appearances for the club, and as well as the impressive facts on the back of the card, Hammy is also the Dee's top Scottish Internationlist, having achieved 24 full caps.
