This is the programme for Jim Duffy's Testimonial that took place on 6th December 1987 at Dens.It was actually supposed to be a game in aid of, what was thought at the time, the end of Jim's playing career after a horrendous knee injury against Rangers in September 87, but as everyone knows, he came bouncing back in 1990!Charlie Nicholas was in Dundee's team for this game, and in fact scored one of the goals which saw the Dee come out on top over a Premier League Select side. DFC winning 5-3 to be precise.

Here's the programme from the recent Hall of Fame dinner held at the Invercarse, April this year. Among the speakers were Jim Duffy & comedian Jimmy Stirling.H.O.F. players honoured were - Longair, Cowie, Caniggia, Barry Smith, Steel, Jocky Scott, Glizean and Cox.
This Dundee fanzine had been on the go for a year by the time this issue above, dated Easter 1990, came out.Contents include concern over the Dee's relegation battle, reviews of other fanzines, amusing pieces on Ross Jack, Vince Mennie & Albert Craig, an interview with ex Dee Terry Christie, match reports, music, letters and the usual bundle of funny articles & gags squeezed in.This particular issue also includes the first "Hall of Fame" poster, namely, Billy Dodds, who was top scorer that season.The cover depicts the return of Jim Duffy to the team after having been away at Falkirk for a while.
This turned out to be more duff than Duffy merchandise! The idea behind it was a parody of TV's "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" using Duffy's name in it's place. It even had the DFC badge in blood! Anyway, it never reached the mass production stage and there were only 2 sample shirts made. Jim Duffy himself saw the humorous side of it and actually signed the one I have, but I've no idea what happened to the other one, maybe it ended up being used as a duster by the cleaner at Dens!
Jim Duffy had 2 stints as Dundee manager -1993 - 19962002 - 2004Duffy took the Dees to 2 cup finals at Hampden as manager. League Cup in 1995 & Scottish Cup in 2003. It contains examples of sentences that don't make any sense that have been used in the media, usually during a sports commentary, or in interviews. They are named after David Coleman who was always coming out with such gaffs in his commentaries.Well here is the one when our own Jim Duffy made the sports hall of infamy, when he came out with this little ditty about Novo in 2003.
